Well our annual picnic was once again a huge success. Many thanks to Jr. Vice Noel Working for the wonderful job he did putting everything together. Also thanks to all the many people that helped out. Job well done everyone.
Our Riders did an excellent job escorting SPC Dusty Schmidt to our Post for his welcome home picnic. The groups involved with the escort duties included our own Legion Riders from Post 703 along with the Riders from Wauconda Post 911. It was quite a sight to see all those bikes rolling into the Post parking lot. Very impressive guys!
We have a benefit coming up for Chuck and Cathy Ruiz on Oct. 11th. Since this is a fund-raiser, I hope to see you all there. Cathy is a member of the Auxiliary, and Chuck is a member of Post 703 and the Legion Riders. They both were injured in a biking accident in Downers Grove, while representing the Legion Riders from Post 703 during a welcome home ride for a local serviceman. At the fund-raiser John Marker’s world famous spaghetti dinners will be available to purchase, and there will be several raffles and silent auctions also available. Since this function is to help those from our Legion family, I hope to see all those who can make it. Starting time is 3:00 pm and will run to 6:00 pm. So feel free to bring the family and all your friends. After all this is a function to benefit two people from our Legion family. Chuck is presently at Victory Lakes going through the rehabilitation process, and Cathy is currently at home, but wheel-chair bound.
